More About Wicks Wood Floors
Mike Wichert began learning the hardwood flooring trade at just 11 years old, working alongside a neighbor in the industry. He often tagged along to job sites, helping stock trucks, organize equipment, lay out new flooring projects, and pick up boards. Mike enjoyed the work and was eager to learn. As a teenager, he spent his summers working full-time with his neighbor’s flooring company, gaining hands-on experience in both residential and commercial flooring projects. By 1994, Mike was ready to launch his own business—Wicks Wood Floors, Inc—which he initially operated out of his home.
The business grew quickly. Within a few years, Mike had five employees and rented a storefront on Arcadian Avenue in Waukesha. The team soon expanded to ten employees. In 2005, Mike purchased the current property on College Avenue, which provided both office space and a warehouse. Today, Wicks Wood Floors remains a trusted destination for hardwood flooring services. Mike Wichert and his team continue to innovate and deliver superior craftsmanship for every flooring project.
